Born in Somerset, Lee Kirby also known as 3rdEye has been creating art since the late eighties when he was first inspired by graffiti art culture and comic artists such as Vaughn Bode. He trained in photography in Leicester and began developing his art work by painting walls, boards, warehouses, and leading workshops with young people within the city.
After traveling in India, Lee Moved to Bristol where the Graffiti art scene was exploding and began developing projects in and around Bristol collaborating with Bristol street artists and Illustrators, and developing skills leading workshops as well as creating commissions in and around Bristol and the South West.
Lee's recent work reflects his use of symmetrical and geometric shapes as well as abstracted fragments of characters using technical drafting tools. The work is inspired by elements such as music, other artists both contemporary and past, and Ethnic patterns and designs from architecture and nature.
