Kya Beers, originally from the coastal town of Ilfracombe in Devon, now Bristol based, is a contemporary artist whose work has a focus on community activism and positive messaging through mural projects and painting. With a background in Fine Art Mixed Media from her studies in London, Beers combines a range of techniques and mediums to explore and express the dualities and contrasts within human life.
She invites viewers to pause and ponder the deeper meanings and connections within their own lives, exhibited in her recent work with Shelter & Bristol’s Fair Renting campaign on their ‘End the Emergency' Activism Trail and other various charity/grassroot mural projects. Beers’ work is a reflection of her contemplative nature, always encouraging a dialogue that transcends the visual to touch upon the existential.
