Ohhi Ohno is an Irish artist based in Limerick City. Taking (what felt like) a long creative hiatus after receiving a degree in Printmaking in 2019 they began to experiment with painting outdoors during Lockdown.
Ohhi Ohno’s studio practice seems to be morphing into an exploration of fantastical Otherworldly beings which in turn leaks into their street art. Most of their work involves water (“uisce” - in Irish) or involves ~bodies~ of water.
They are heavily inspired by mythologies, tattooing and graffiti and immensely enjoy the sense of purpose, joy and exploration the practice of painting gives.
This profile picture is a painting on a pier which submerges/emerges with the tide - probably nearly all worn away now.
