Freelance Artist & Muralist
BA Hons Fine Art Graduate from UWE Bristol with 1st Degree in 2021
Natasha Watson (artist name URBAN FAY) is a Recent Fine Art BA graduate from UWE, Bristol, now working part time while building up a freelance portfolio.
She is a multidisciplinary artist specialising in community engagement, mural work, and illustration. Her work is a method of storytelling, focusing primarily on the juxtaposition between our present-day urban society and the folkloric, mythological and fantastical elements of our past.
Community engagement and public art play a big part in her artistic profile - her passion lies in the importance of finding different ways to bring artistic practice out of white cube settings and into the lives and hearts of local communities.
She is currently working with various creative community outreach/grassroots groups in Bristol (Bristol Mural Collective; Knowle West Media Centre; People’s Republic of Stokes Croft). She aspires to use her practice as a freelance public artist as a vehicle to encourage accessibility and involvement in the Arts within not only communities in Bristol, but internationally. She also aims to use her skills multifariously, so as to gain experience in working with large and small scale events such as festivals, community arts projects, and institutions for learning.
