For three decades Mau Mau has been reflecting the changing times with his free hand style and memorable characters, such as Mau Fox. His talk and Q&A will take the audience behind the scenes of his best known street pieces, art travels and stories; from running a cult skate brand in the 1990s to exhibitions, protests and festivals, strange adventures in Asia with Souled Out Studios and travels through Jamaican sound system culture.
Talking Out of My Art: The Artworks and Travels of Mau Mau, is newly published by Velocity Press and stands apart from the usual art book. It sits easily on a coffee table but has a distinctive fanzine feel, which reflects the artist’s creative journey through the counter culture since the 1990s. Mau Mau will be selling and signing books after the talk.
